
#KATIWALAFEST

A pista sa kultura, cultural festival, KATIWALA FEST is a non-profit celebration of indigenous & local wisdom and kinship with nature through visual arts, music, dance & conversation.
The inaugral KATIWALA FEST Isla Edition was held 22 - 25 June 2025, with the theme, "From the Mountain, to the Sea":

Paingon sa Dagat.

This special edition in Siargao Island, Philippines, is a meeting of bukid (mountain) and dagat (ocean) wisdom, between Filipino artists of the Daraghuyan Bukidnon & Talaandig mountain tribes of Bukidnon, Northern Mindanao, and local isla artists.

A series of workshops are available during the festival DAYS 2 & 3, 23rd - 24th June, led by members of the Talaandig and Daraghuyan Bukidnon tribes:

By joining these non-profit, fundraising events you will directly support biocultural conservation in Northern Mindanao, with proceeds donated to the following artist-chosen initiatives in the bukid and the isla:
1. New roofing materials for the Tigwaonon-Manobo tribal community, San Fernando, Bukidnon.
2. New communal kitchen materials for the Daraghuyan Bukidnon, Higaonon tribe, Dalwangan, Malabalay, Bukidnon.
3. Siargao youth music and arts program, by Siargao Collective.
4. Protecting Siargao's coral reefs program by OceanTribe PH.
